Buon giorno. I just logged on to the Internet for the first time in about couple of weeks. But, I liked abstinence. "All roads lead to Rome". I could not help thinking of this familiar saying as I concluded my visit to this wonderfull city.
Although each city has its romantic spots among the hustle and bustle of the daily life, Rome exhales a breath of delight. In the narrow alleyways, between the dark brown and orange coloured buildings, you will lose your hart. The city is not called ´The eternal city´ for nothing. You just can´t forget...
If you're in Rome, eat like a Roman ...
Rome is centrally located in Italy, and its cooking reflects northern and southern influences. As well, there are a number of restaurants specializing in the foods of a particular region. Take the opportunity to gain as wide a variety of experiences as possible, e.g. pizza romana vs. pizza napoletana could be very interesting experience.
Let me tell you some facts about Pizzeria Bafetto (Via del Governo Vecchio
114), my favourite spot - the pizza is truly delicious. I know, it has been a favourite of locals and travellers alike for years, but I like it - basta!
It's smack-bang in the middle of Old Rome, still retaining a defiant autheticity. It's best to arrive early, make a reservation, or face a long queue. Once inside you won't be disappointed. Its share-style tables cram into a small one-room trattoria furnished direct from Variety Italian Style. You will be guaranteed to meet either locals or like-minded travellers over an authentic meal of simple pasta, pizza and salads served fresh and enthusiastically.
Yes, I love this place ...
You should also visit Gelateria di San Crispino (Via della Panetteria 42) - the best gelato in Rome. Believe me, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The fact is that you are guaranteed a superior gelato experience at a place that keeps their ice cream in the traditional circular stainless steel tubs built into the counter and covered with round stainless steel lids, totally out of view. San Crispino is famous for first-rate raw materials like corbezzolo (wild Sardinian strawberry tree honey).
I have proven empirically that there is always room for gelato.
I love this place too...
